GHS is Great because.......
GHS is great because of the positive atmosphere! The administration, faculty, and staff that I work with are encouraging and supportive. Working as the GATEWAYS teacher can sometimes be challenging, but it is always very rewarding! There are no words to describe the feeling of seeing a child achieve a goal! I love working at GHS, and I am proud that GHS will by my children’s alma mater! -Erin McKinney, Gateways Teacher
One thing that makes GHS great is the many friends that I have made. They have wonderful teachers that have helped me succeed in my studies. I really liked being given choices of subjects to choose from, in China I do not have this kind of choice. GHS gave me one of the most fantastic nights of my life which was when I went to their prom.

With today’s emphasis in education put on this test score, or that number, it is difficult sometimes to put a finger on what makes a school great. These “all important” test scores aren’t a true reflection on the success or greatness of a school. What makes Greenville great is the real partnership that exists between administrators, teachers, parents and the community working together to mold our students into hard-working, outstanding members of society, who think for themselves.
Here at Greenville there is no longer an {us vs. them} mentality, that seems to plague many other places. There is just us, together, doing whatever we can for our students and district to succeed. We have administrators with high standards and vision. More importantly, they have the ability to effectively communicate this vision to their teachers and students. We have teachers that genuinely care for their students and their success. The vast majority of teachers do not view this job as a 7 am to 3 pm gig. They are here early, and stay late, doing whatever it takes to make their students successful. They are there supporting their students at every sporting event, every concert, every art show. We have a support and maintenance staff that keeps the school and its grounds looking great, and running smoothly. We have students that take pride in their work, and set lofty goals for themselves. We have parents and community members that are always willing to step up to the plate and help when it benefits our students.
Greenville’s greatness can be measured by our student’s successes. It can be measured in the emails, notes, and visits from past students to thank their teachers and administrators. We have students everywhere around the country making this world a better place, and many of them still find time to make it back here. This speaks much more loudly of our success than any test score ever could.

EducationWorld.com stated that "great schools cannot exist without great groups of kids...[and] a great staff." At GHS we have both great kids and great faculty. The students here at GHS really make the school great with all their amazing talents from playing an instrument, playing a sport, painting some art around the school or just by making people laugh. Our teachers are just as wonderful because they are always willing to stay after school and help a struggling student or just to talk to a student if the student needs it. Besides our teachers, our janitors, lunch ladies, and administrators are just as welcoming and cheerful. Overall, GHS is a great school because we have a great student body and a great staff.

The teachers at GHS are excellent at making classes fun and interesting. The environment is a cheerful and friendly place to study. The students were very helpful showing me to my classes and providing me with notes for what I did not understand. It is nearly impossible to list all of the things that make GHS great. Our class offerings, extracurricular activities, facilities, staff, community, and parents are second to none. The most important piece of that greatness is our students. We have such a diverse group of students who are caring, fun, hardworking and have a tremendous amount of school pride. They excel in all areas and it is always exciting to see what our students will accomplish each year!

Greenville is great because it has some best teachers I've ever met. Especially in the CHS classes, I learned so much from them and they really help me get prepared for college. GHS is great because of many things. We have a truly dedicated staff that goes above and beyond standard teaching duties whether it is through coaching, tutoring, or clubs; our staff is caring, intelligent, and dynamic. Our academic programs set us apart from other schools as well. From superior electives like media, band, choir, and yearbook, to strong academic courses and CHS classes, we have something for everything. GHS has so many great things about it. One of the great things about GHS is we have a great teachers they help all of us students learn and they are very good at it. We have a great sports programs. Our principals Mr. Tokar and Dr. Hogue are very good at what they do. Our superintendent Mr. Ferrara is a very nice man and is doing great things for GHS.
